If you are an under 18 student at UWA College, there are two categories with specific conditions. These conditions are set by the Department of Home Affairs:
- Living with your own parent or family guardian – In this case, you must ensure you are in suitable accommodation, and your parent or guardian is responsible for your welfare while in Australia.
- Under a CAAW (Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare) and appointed an ISA local caregiver – If you are under a CAAW, you must follow all the rules associated with this arrangement. The CAAW ensures that your accommodation and welfare are appropriately managed by an ISA-approved caregiver.
The CAAW starts 2 weeks prior to the course start date, and you should not arrive before this period. During this time, UWA assumes responsibility for your welfare as soon as you land in Australia.
It’s important to follow all the requirements of the CAAW and ensure accommodation and welfare arrangements are in place before arriving.
For more information, refer to the UWA website.
