For Higher Degree by Research degrees (e.g. PhD, MPhil, EdD, SJD) :
(a) The award of a living allowance stipend scholarship is via an open competitive selection process.
These scholarships are awarded to those applicants who have recent academic achievements of a comparable First Class / High Distinction / WAM 80+ in the qualifying degree. Publications or other research output may strengthen an application overall, and may contribute to additional strength when compared to other applicants, however the baseline academic achievement needs to met and evidenced.
(b) The award of a tuition fee scholarship for domestic applicants is via the RTP Domestic Tuition Fee Offset, this is awarded upon admission.
The award of a tuition fee scholarship for international applicants is via an open competitive selection process, or via a proposal from an academic supervisor when proposing a living allowance stipend scholarship.
(c) The award of overseas student health insurance is available to international applicants only when awarded a tuition fee scholarship that includes overseas student health insurance. Not all tuition fee scholarships include this allowance.
(d) The award of relocation expenses is only available for applicants relocating to Perth from eastern states or remote WA. It is not available for international applicants.
(e) The award of research or lab expenses is awarded after enrolment when a research proposal is approved and can be used for field, lab or research expenses that support the research undertaken toward the degree.
